Dear Caucus Members,

The election of the Board of Directors of the Caucus will be conducted at the meeting of the caucus on 20 October 2008. All caucus members are eligible to vote. All residents and landowners in the Snowmass and Capitol Creek Valleys are members.

The vote will be conducted through ballots emailed to the Caucus during September and October, or submitted to the Board at the 20 October meeting. The Board can include no more than seventeen members. The length of each Board member's term is one year.

Seventeen members indicated their intent to run for a seat on the board. Fifteen are current Board members. Two incumbents chose not to run.

Below is a ballot. Please use one ballot for each qualified voter in your home. Complete the ballots and send them to the Caucus by email or postal mail prior to 15 October 2008 or bring them to the 20 October meeting. To avoid multiple voting, we ask you to include your name on the ballot.

The mission of the Snowmass Capitol Creek Caucus is to preserve the rural character and ecosystem of our unique valleys. To accomplish this, the Caucus shall:
• Implement and defend a comprehensive Master Plan for the valley.
• Monitor and protect the fragile riparian ecosystems of Snowmass Creek, Capitol Creek, their sources, and tributaries.
• Foster community values and interaction.
• Act as a voice to Pitkin County and other government bodies.
• Promote the agricultural heritage that remains a valuable resource.
